No Coupon Inserts this week!

No inserts this week! For some of us (as in, me) this will be a good chance to reorganize and get caught up with our coupons. That is, if we get all of the holiday shopping, baking, and wrapping done! Ahh the holidays.

Nearly FREE Baby Wipes and a new Walgreen's Coupon Book to look out for!

I stopped into Walgreens among other errands and remembered I needed wipes. I didn't have my coupon binder with me (I know, right?!) so I went to see if there was a single pack of cheap wipes to get me through. Walgreens has their premium wipes on sale for $1.99 per pack or 2 for $2.49. Much to my delight, several of the packs had peelie coupons on them for $1 off per pack. I pulled the coupon and noted that it had expired on 11/30 but it was a Walgreens coupon so I thought they might honor it anyhow. I took two packs up to test and the coupon went through without a hitch. I went back and found 5 more packs with $1 off coupons on them and stocked up.

The rundown:
8 packs of wipes at $1.245 per pack= 9.96

- $2 RR from earlier this week

Pads at Ravenna Marcs 99 Cents

I love the closeout section of Marcs stores. I never go in without finding a deal and today was no exception.  They had these Up & Up (Target Brand) Super Maxi Pads for 99 cents. That's a better deal then you can generally get with a coupon on pads. We found these in the Ravenna Marcs and they were on a bottom shelf in the closeout section next to giant bags of generic Q-tips for $1. I have not checked the other Marcs around us, but a lot of the time they have the same items in so it's worth checking.  This is a stock up price!

Quick Trip, HUGE savings! Couponing Tip!

I had to run some errands and pick up a couple of things. My trip took me directly next to Walmart so it was there I decided to shop. Some time ago I received a pair of Schick Hydro coupons, one for a free razor (up to $10.99) and a $2 off of refills. I noticed that Walmart had these gift sets on sale for $9.97 so I decided to see if my coupon would work for my set. Lo and behold, it did. Score one free gift set!

Since I also needed diapers, I decided to take advantage of Walmart's price matching program rather than run around. (Plus my CVS is always out of these diapers when they are on sale!) We are working on potty training but traditional Pull ups are too big for my little guy. Huggies Slip Ons fit perfectly and work just like a Pull up. They are on sale this week at CVS for $8, Walmart had them priced at $9.47. All I had to do was tell the cashier that they were on sale at CVS and the price and she did the rest. I added in a $2 off Little Movers coupon from a Sunday circular and got this pack for $6. While not a super, amazing, stock up price, it's still not a bad price at all.

The lesson behind this little trip is that it never hurts to ask. Ask if the coupon you have is good for a similar item or that item packaged with another. Ask for price matching, Walmart advertises openly that they price match, it's on every register, other stores may do so quietly. Don't be shy when it comes to saving money!

Santa Claus is coming to Kent!

This Saturday, December 3, 2011 is the annual Festival of Lights celebration in downtown Kent! Beginning at 5:30 pm with musical entertainment from the Kent Roosevelt ACEs Choir, Santa will be arriving at approximately 6pm via a lighted train. I've yet to attend this event but last year we were lucky enough to see Santa's train on our way to something else. It was magical to even the eyes of the adults in our car!

Bring a camera to capture your moments with Santa! There will also be a letter writing station for those still needing to get a letter to old St Nick. And best of all, FREE hot chocolate will be provided!

Some of the local businesses will be staying open late in honor of the event so be sure to stop in! Kent is full of places to pick up unique gifts.
